Blackberry Crumb Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Crust

01 - ¾ cup brown sugar
02 - ½ cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 large eggs
04 - 1 cup butter, melted and unsalted
05 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
06 - ½ tsp cinnamon
07 - 1 tsp almond extract
08 - 1 tsp baking powder

→ Filling

09 - 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
10 - 1½ Tbsp cornstarch
11 - 1 Tbsp lemon juice
12 - ¼ cup granulated sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F. Spray a 9x13 pan with some nonstick spray, then place parchment paper on the bottom.
02 - Stir together butter, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and both kinds of sugar. Toss in the eggs and almond extract, then mix everything well.
03 - Take 1½ cups of the mixture and leave it for the topping. Press the remaining dough into the pan you prepared earlier.
04 - Mix the sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl. Gently mix in the blackberries, then spread it evenly over the base.
05 - Crumble the reserved dough over the blackberries. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden. Let it cool completely before cutting.

# Notes:

01 - Frozen or fresh blackberries work fine for this.
02 - Chunky crumble pieces add great texture.
