Cheesy Tot Pizza Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef (swap with Italian sausage for extra taste)
02 - 1 small onion, chopped
03 - 2 cups pizza or marinara sauce
04 - 1 tsp Italian herbs
05 - Salt and pepper, as needed
06 - 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (or blend mozzarella with cheddar)
07 - 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots

→ Optional Toppings

08 - 1/2 cup tiny pepperoni pieces
09 - 1/2 cup chopped black olives
10 - 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
11 - 1/4 cup chopped green onions
12 - 1/4 cup mushrooms, thinly cut

# Instructions:

01 - Get your oven hot at 400°F (200°C). Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with some oil.
02 - Grab a big pan and cook your ground beef with chopped onion on medium heat until meat isn't pink and onions get soft, around 5-7 minutes. Pour off any fat.
03 - Stir in your pizza or marinara sauce, Italian herbs, and a bit of salt and pepper. Let it bubble gently for a minute or two.
04 - Pour the meat mix into your greased dish, making it flat. Scatter 1 cup of your cheese all over the meat.
05 - Put your tater tots in one layer on top of everything. Sprinkle the other cup of cheese over the tots.
06 - Pop your dish in the hot oven for about 25-30 minutes. You'll know it's done when tots are crunchy and golden, and cheese is all melty.
07 - If you want, throw on some tiny pepperoni, olives, bell peppers or whatever pizza toppings you love. Then cook another 5 minutes to warm them up.
08 - Take it out and let it cool down a bit. Then dig into your tasty pizza-style comfort food!
