Slice the beef thinly. Toss the slices in all the marinade ingredients till evenly coated. Let them sit for at least 15 minutes.

Stir together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Leave it aside for later.

Crack the egg into the marinated beef. Stir the slices till they're well-coated, then cover them completely in starch. Shake off extra starch before frying.

Bring oil to 350°F. Deep fry the coated beef for 1-2 minutes till golden and crispy. Place them on paper towels or a rack to get rid of extra oil.

In a hot wok, pour in a splash of oil. Toss in the sliced onion, stir for a few seconds, then add the bell pepper. Mix everything well.

Add the fried beef to the wok. Pour in the sauce, toss in the spring onions and chillies. Stir it all up on high heat for a couple of minutes.

Dish it out onto a plate. Great with noodles or steamed rice. It's a tasty snack too!
