Set your oven to 450°F. Spray the muffin tin with a bit of cooking oil.

Use 2 or 3 tots for each small muffin slot, or 4 to 5 for larger ones.

Pop the tray on the oven's bottom rack for 10 minutes.

Use a greased shot glass to press tots into little cups, then bake another 15 minutes until golden and crisp.

Fill each tot cup with cheese. Bake 4 to 5 minutes—just until the cheese melts.

Top each cup with sour cream, bacon crumbles, and onion slices. Best enjoyed while warm.
