Amish Beef Potato Dish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Patties

01 - 1½ lbs ground beef
02 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
03 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
04 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Gravy and Layers

05 - 2 cups milk, split up
06 - ¼ cup all-purpose flour
07 - 4-5 medium russet potatoes, cut into thin slices
08 - 1 medium onion, sliced thin
09 - 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 375°F. Coat a 9x13 dish with some oil or butter.
02 - Combine the beef with your garlic powder, onion powder, and some salt and pepper. Shape this mixture into 6 flat patties.
03 - Put patties in a hot skillet to brown each side. Don't cook them all the way through. Take them out and set them aside.
04 - Using the same pan, mix 1 cup milk with the flour until it's smooth. Slowly pour in the rest of your milk while stirring. Keep going until it thickens into a gravy. Add some salt and pepper.
05 - Put half your potato slices on the bottom of your dish, then scatter half the onion slices on top. Place your beef patties over this layer. Finish with the rest of your potatoes and onions.
06 - Drizzle all the gravy on top. Cover the dish with foil and stick it in the oven for an hour. Sprinkle cheese on top and cook without the foil for another 15 minutes.

# Notes:

01 - Cut your potatoes super thin so they'll cook properly
02 - Try adding some mushrooms if you want more flavor
