Meat Potato Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 onion, finely chopped
02 - 1 lb minced beef
03 - 2 medium-sized potatoes, cubed after peeling
04 - 2 cloves of garlic, chopped up
05 - 1 cup beef stock
06 - 1 tablespoon tomato puree
07 - 2 tablespoons plain flour
08 - Salt and pepper, measure as you like
09 - 1 beaten egg for brushing the crust
10 - 2 ready-made puff pastry sheets
11 - 1 teaspoon thyme (dried)
12 - 1 cup peas from the freezer

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the oven on and set it to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Over medium heat, brown the beef in a big frying pan. Toss in the onions and garlic, then mix until they're soft.
03 - Add the potatoes and keep cooking for about 5 minutes.
04 - Mix in the thyme, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle over the flour and stir it all together.
05 - Slowly stir in the beef stock until the mixture thickens up, which should take about 5 minutes.
06 - Add the peas, give it a stir, and let the mixture cool off for a bit.
07 - Roll out one puff pastry sheet and press it into the bottom of your pie dish.
08 - Spoon the beef and potato mix into the lined pie dish.
09 - Put the second puff pastry sheet on top. Trim any extra dough off the edges.
10 - Brush the top with the egg wash and cut small slits so steam can escape.
11 - Put it in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until you see the crust turn crisply golden and the filling bubbling slightly.
