Simple Chocolate Cake Mix (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Cake

01 - 1½ cups (187g) regular flour
02 - 1 cup (200g) white sugar
03 - ¼ cup (29.5g) plain cocoa powder
04 - ½ teaspoon fine salt
05 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
06 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
07 - 1 teaspoon distilled vinegar
08 - ⅓ cup cooking oil
09 - 1 cup (237g) fresh water

→ For the Frosting

10 - 3 tablespoons soft butter, unsalted
11 - 3 tablespoons plain cocoa powder
12 - 1 tablespoon natural honey
13 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
14 - 1 cup (125g) powdered sugar
15 - 3 tablespoons full-fat milk or cream

# Instructions:

01 - Turn oven to 350°F. Cover an 8x8-inch pan with parchment or coat with non-stick spray.
02 - Grab a big bowl and mix flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, and baking soda together until everything looks uniform.
03 - Drop in vanilla, vinegar, oil, and water with your dry mix. Stir everything up until it's smooth and well mixed.
04 - Dump the mixture into your pan. Let it bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick stuck in comes out mostly clean. Cool it down.
05 - With your mixer, beat together the soft butter, cocoa, honey, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Run it slow for half a minute.
06 - Slowly pour in milk, one spoon at a time, mixing until you get the right thickness. Smear it all over your cooled cake.
