Monte Cristo Sandwich Copycat (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sandwich

01 - 9 pieces honey wheat bread
02 - 9 pieces juicy roasted turkey (thick slices)
03 - 9 pieces sweet honey ham (thick cut)
04 - 3 pieces mild cheddar cheese
05 - 3 pieces Swiss cheese

→ Batter

06 - 3 cups (375g) plain flour
07 - 2 tbsp baking powder
08 - ½ tsp sea salt
09 - 2⅔ cups water
10 - 2 big eggs, whisked
11 - Vegetable or canola oil for frying
12 - ½ cup (62.5g) powdered sugar

→ Dipping Sauce

13 - Red raspberry jam
14 - Honey mustard (if you want)

# Instructions:

01 - Stack bread with turkey and Swiss, another bread slice, ham and cheddar, then top with bread. Slice corner to corner, wrap in plastic, and stick in fridge 2-3 hours.
02 - Stir flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, blend water and eggs, then pour into dry mix until it's smooth.
03 - Pour 2 inches oil in a big pot and heat until it reaches 325°F-350°F.
04 - Coat each half sandwich in batter, then drop in oil for 4-5 minutes till they turn golden. Let excess oil drip off on paper towels.
05 - Sprinkle with powdered sugar and put out raspberry jam and honey mustard on the side if you'd like.

02 - Cooling in the fridge makes sure your sandwich won't fall apart when frying
