In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, minced green onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and granulated sugar. Mix thoroughly until the filling is smooth and fully blended.

Pour peanut oil into a deep fryer or Dutch oven to a depth of 10 cm and heat to 190°C.

Place a small bowl of water on your work surface. Set one wonton wrapper in front of you. Moisten the edges by running a finger dipped in water around the perimeter.

Spoon approximately 7 grams (about 0.5 tablespoon) of filling into the centre of the wrapper. Fold into four points, pressing the edges firmly to seal and prevent any tearing.

Fry wontons in batches of four at a time, turning as needed, until golden brown and crisp, approximately 4–5 minutes per batch.

Transfer cooked wontons upside down onto a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve immediately with sweet and sour sauce.
