Hazelnut Puff Hearts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Pastry

01 - 1 sheet puff pastry (let it thaw if it's frozen)
02 - ½ cup Nutella
03 - 1 egg (for brushing on top)
04 - 1 tablespoon water (for mixing with egg)

→ For Garnish (Optional)

05 - Whipped cream
06 - Fresh berries
07 - Powdered sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Get your oven hot at 375°F (190°C). Put some parchment paper on your baking sheet.
02 - Take your puff pastry that's warmed to room temp and shape it into hearts with a knife or cookie cutter.
03 - Pop the heart shapes onto your lined baking sheet and stick them in the fridge for 10 minutes so they don't lose their shape.
04 - Drop about 1 tablespoon of Nutella in the middle of half your heart pieces, making sure to stay away from the edges.
05 - Cover each Nutella-topped heart with another pastry heart. Push the edges together to close them up, maybe using a fork to make pretty marks.
06 - Stir the egg and water together and paint it over your pastries to make them turn nice and golden.
07 - Cook them for 15-18 minutes until they're puffy and golden brown. Let them cool a bit before you eat them.
08 - Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and add fresh berries or whipped cream if you want.

# Notes:

01 - They taste best when they're still warm

03 - Great for Valentine's Day or when you want to make something special
