Nutella Filled Flaky Pies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough Base

01 - 1 cup cold diced salted butter
02 - 2 cups regular flour
03 - 6½ tablespoons white sugar
04 - 1/4 teaspoon table salt
05 - 1 large egg yolk
06 - 1 large egg

→ Topping & Decoration

07 - 1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
08 - 1-2 tablespoons icing sugar for sprinkling

→ Glaze Mixture

09 - 1 large egg
10 - 1-2 tablespoons milk or water

# Instructions:

01 - Mix butter with dry stuff and eggs in food processor until it clumps together. Give it a quick knead on floured counter till you get a smooth ball.
02 - Pop dough in fridge for 30 minutes. While waiting, scoop small dollops of chocolate hazelnut spread onto parchment and stick in freezer for 20-30 minutes till they're hard.
03 - Heat your oven to 350F (180C). Put parchment on your baking trays. Roll your dough out till it's 1/8 inch thick.
04 - Cut out 3½-inch rounds, drop frozen spread in the middle, cover with another round that has small cuts. Press edges with fork tines and brush with egg mixture.
05 - Pop in oven for 20-25 minutes till they turn golden brown. Enjoy hot or cold, maybe with a dusting of icing sugar on top.

# Notes:

01 - They'll stay good on the counter for 1-2 days or in the fridge for 4-5 days
02 - You can freeze them before or after baking for up to 3 months
03 - No food processor? No problem! Just use your hands or a stand mixer instead
